Baseline is a VEGA Advisory Services initiative led by Neil Milne, a Melbourne-based product and technology leader. It combines product leadership with a reusable SaaS foundation to help organisations build software products they can launch, operate and continue evolving.

Neil has more than 30 years of experience across product leadership, SaaS, cloud platforms, commercial models and technology delivery. His career includes senior leadership roles at Oracle and CloudSense, alongside current product, technology and advisory work.
The work connects product strategy, customer discovery, commercial decisions, go-to-market and delivery so that the product decision and the implementation decision reinforce each other.
Built from practical delivery lessons.
Baseline reflects lessons from recent AI-first product delivery work: implementation can move quickly, but products still need clear decisions, disciplined foundations and evidence that the first release solves the right problem. The goal is to direct more effort to the product’s differentiated value instead of repeatedly rebuilding common SaaS capability.
The objective is capability, not dependency.
The product should be designed so the customer can continue operating and developing it after handover. That means clear product decisions, consistent architecture, automated tests, transparent governance and a codebase the next team can understand.
